Wages are a very significant factor as well. If we speculate that Guendouzi, Torreira, Sokratis, Martinez, Chambers and Elneny are on an average of £75k per week each, that’s an annual wage bill of £23.4 million just for them. Bringing Partey and Aouar in on let’s say £110,000 a week would save us half that amount each year: i.e £58.5 million over a five year contract period.
