I see what you’re saying but the players we were missing were Auba, Laca, Runarsson and Willian. I don’t know where the nine players were for COVID.

The two strikers were a miss but the defence was the defence and that was the big problem – no Tomiyasu, no Ramsdale – made a big difference.

But I fully disagree that our transfer business last season hampered our start. You just completely ignore the fact that we had a huge covid outbreak a few hours before our kick off against Brentford and went on to miss 9 players against Chelsea. If you need a scapegoat for the bad results in the opening games go for the League administration for not postponing our first games or for covid.
