£6m for Torreira is a joke. TBH I think we treated him terribly – he was excellent until Emery decided he needed to play No 10. Then when Arteta took over he was a large part of the turn around – until Ceballos had one excellent game and then Arteta ditched him. Injured in a crazy late tackle in the Carabao and never given another chance. Was carrying an injury at the end of his 1st season as well. Heard the reason we didn’t fancy him is we wanted a taller DCM!

Leno if true is beyond a joke – he’s still one of the top 7 or 8 GKs in the League. We would pay more for a talented kid from a Chumps League team. We could reportedly have included him in the mix with Leicester for Tielemans. Why didn’t we do that?

The rot started with Wenger – paying big salaries to mediocre players. Even the players he got from Ligue 1, he’d bump up their salaries after 6 months. Then we couldn’t get rid of them as no-one could afford the salaries.

The crazy salaries of Oezil, Aubey etc meant that they were never going to be sold. Only a handful of clubs can afford those salaries and then typically only for a couple of players. But what top club is going to buy our reject and pay them that kind of money?

We had players and their agents taking us for a ride. Oezil and Alexis texting each other to coordinate their wage demands and running down their contracts together.

I hate to say it, but look at how Spuds have done without the same crazy wage bill.
