If we can detach ourselves that he’s an ex-blue (yuck, yes very hard to stomach), I think he’s good value and we don’t know who else might be in for him and maybe we were right to move fast.
If we don’t get Eze it’ll be a real shame but there will always be other options, that’s football, and I do have a slight reservation with Eze that circa £60m for a 27 year old isn’t really long term thinking. I’m ok with £51m for a 26 year old Zubimendi because his game isn’t based on hard running or explosive pace, I think #6’s like him can play well into their 30’s….theres less respite for attacking players…..
